J P Harper is a lover of speculative fiction and fantasy, and writes adventure stories for readers both young and old who love portals, strange worlds, impossible choices, and heroes who do not feel heroic at first.
Jamie Cooper and the Touchscreen Portal is the first book in a new fantasy–science fiction series about friendship, courage, gaming, grief, found family and the discovery that some worlds are far more real than they first appear.
When not writing, J P Harper enjoys imagining impossible places, asking “what if?”, and building stories where ordinary people can find themselves at the centre of extraordinary events.
A Senior Systems Engineer for over a decade, and with a background in the digital arts, J P Harper has lived and worked on three continents in as many decades, but was born and resides in London with his family, including Toffee the dog. As a two-time survivor of cancer, he finds satisfaction in knowing that something as simple as words, whether written or spoken, can bring comfort, courage, laughter, escape, and a little light when it is needed most.
