J P Harper writes portal fantasy and science-fiction adventures about ordinary people drawn into extraordinary worlds. His stories combine strange places, impossible choices, friendship, courage and heroes who do not feel heroic at first.

Jamie Cooper and the Touchscreen Portal is the first book in a fantasy–science-fiction series shaped by gaming, grief, found family and the discovery that some worlds are far more real than they first appear.

A Senior Systems Engineer for over a decade, and with a background in the digital arts, J P Harper has lived and worked on three continents in as many decades. He was born and lives in London with his family, including Toffee the dog.

As a two-time survivor of cancer, he finds particular satisfaction in the knowledge that words — written or spoken — can bring comfort, courage, laughter, escape and a little light when it is needed most.
